However, the court found that <strong>using the law to impose broad, peacetime economic measures\u2014such as tariffs targeting China\u2014exceeded its intended scope<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>temporary stay<\/strong> has allowed the tariffs to remain in effect for now. The case is scheduled to move to the <strong>appeals court on July 31<\/strong>, and the outcome could significantly <strong>limit how IEEPA is used in future trade actions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tariff Targets (Beyond China):<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Vietnam<\/strong> \u2013 Initially hit with a proposed 46% tariff in April.
